Russian President rejects European countries’ ‘threat from Russia’ claim

October 30, 2026

Russian President Vladimir Putin at a press conference on October 23 rejected the argument of European countries concerning a "threat from Russia".

The political process in Europe clearly shows that the European people do not want to fight with Russia, he said, stating that Russia is not preparing for any war with European countries and does not want to fight with them.

It is a symptom of political schizophrenia to argue that a "threat" is coming from Russia and, therefore, they should begin to make preparations for a war with Russia, he said.

Russia always advocates the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian dispute, but if Kiev wants the other solution to the dispute, Moscow will continue the special military operations and achieve all its objectives through them, he stated.

It is impossible to defeat Russia in the battlefield and, furthermore, it is unrealistic to inflict a "strategic defeat" on Russia, he stressed.
