November 2, 2026

The National Garment and Footwear Exhibition-2026 is going on at the Three-Revolution Exhibition House.

On display are various seasonal clothes, shoes, bags, hats, fabrics and all sorts of luxuries produced by more than 270 units across the country.

The exhibition on the theme of “Development of new products and enthusiasm for improvement of quality” draws many visitors every day.

What is noteworthy at the exhibition is that garments are new and diverse in shape.

The Unha Trading Bureau, the Ponghwa Trading Administration and other units have presented many seasonal clothes suited to the tastes and hobbies of the Korean people. The clothes are attracting the attention of visitors as they are more elegant and diverse in colour and shape as compared with before. A white coat for women presented by the Pyongyang Municipal Garment Industry Management Bureau is popular among young women who constantly want something new as various patterns embroidered on it enhance the decorative effects.

The products produced by city and county garment factories across the country are also attractive.

The Songchon County Garment Factory has exhibited dozens of kinds of garments including pyjamas and underwear made with silk, a speciality of the county.

The Kangdong County Garment Factory presented hundreds of padded garments for men, women and children, many of which are popular among visitors. “We created designs for new types of clothes and produced many products on the basis of them. And the clothes have been in great demand since the first day of the exhibition. Now the factory has begun to produce ordered clothes in response to the urgent request,” said Pak Jin Hong, head of its design office.

The sales of the products from the Jangyon, Sukchon, Yomju and Unsan county garment factories and similar factories in other cities and counties are also increasing as they are varied in material and shape and based on high processing techniques and service by order is briskly conducted.

Also on display at the exhibition are new types of shoes attracting visitors.

The Pyongyang Leather Shoes Factory has presented many new products with Nalgae (wing) brand—the products with the brand are in great demand among the people—and the Wonsan Footwear Factory new types of shoes including functional heat-insulating shoes. Meanwhile, the Rason Samryong Footwear Factory has exhibited new types of light and stout trainers it developed. Such footwear as riding boots, boots for coal miners and shoes for welders from the footwear research institute under the Ministry of Light Industry are enjoying popularity among visitors.

The demand for the products of the Wonsan Leather Shoes Factory and the Ryuwon Footwear Factory is sharply increasing, and the factories have to provide their booths with more shoes every day.

A woman living in Taesong District, Pyongyang, said, “When I said I was going to visit the exhibition, all my family members told me to buy them the products of the Wonsan Leather Shoes Factory and the Ryuwon Footwear Factory. The products bearing ‘Maebongsan’ and ‘Ryuwon’ brands are popular because they are diverse in shape and colour and of very high quality."

On display at the exhibition are leather products and bags more refined in shape and processing technique.

At the exhibition venue there is a brisk exchange of technology and experience between the participating units and producers and between producers and customers as there are parts of and data on major equipment showing the sci-tech achievements of the participating units, unlike the previous events.

During the exhibition there will be a short course, sci-tech presentation and experience-sharing meeting.

“The exhibition will lead the trend of elegance and beauty and the development of civilization and serve as a new springboard for the development of garment and footwear industries of the country and a stage for exchanging advanced techniques and experience,” said O Chun Gum, section chief of the Ministry of Light Industry.
