Recycling contributes to environmental protection
November 6, 2026Big efforts have been directed to the scientific and technological work for recycling in different parts of the country, contributing to environmental protection.
The Central Mining Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences has established a process for producing a flotation reagent, which is necessary for treating fly ash from the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex by using the flotation method, thus providing a guarantee for recycling fly ash on a large scale. The complex now obtains from the ash the burned coal of high utility and raw materials for producing building materials.
Scientists of Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering and technicians of the Taesong Mine contributed to producing various kinds of paints and abrasive paper of great significance in the urban management and construction sectors by establishing a process for producing a solvent based on plastic waste.
The Chongjin Urban Management Parts Factory recycles plastic waste to produce various kinds of paints, plastic roofing tiles and others, thereby eliminating the dependence on imported raw materials and making a great contribution to the urban management in Chongjin and North Hamgyong Province through the production of quality recycled plastic goods.
The Kangson Vinyl Sheet Factory and many other industrial establishments are also pushing ahead with the work to retrieve and recycle various kinds of waste materials and increase production.
