From olden times the Korean people have had a strong sense of justice, loved truth and honoured obligation. And they are a resourceful and upright people with a tenacious and diligent temperament, a brave and indomitable spirit and an unyielding will never to abandon their self-respect, even though they have to lay down their lives.

There is a song singing highly of the fact that all the dispositions and fine qualities of the Korean people are being fully displayed in the present era when the dignity and position of the DPRK have reached the highest level. It is "We Are Koreans".

The song became an instant hit as it clearly reflects the indomitable spirit and unyielding nature of the Koreans, and people still love to sing it.

A researcher of the State Academy of Sciences, who developed a new technology of Korean style which is of great significance in practice, said that "We Are Koreans" gives him incredible strength in the face of difficulties and he swells with the pride of being a Korean scientist whenever he sings the song.

Such true feelings are voiced everywhere miracles and innovations occur including the Sangwon Cement Complex and the Sunchon Area Youth Coal Mining Complex which held up high the torch of increased production, the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, an iron production base in the northern area of the country, and the Komdok Mining Complex, the leading nonferrous mineral production base.

In retrospect, the Korean people were compelled to be resigned to big power worship and national ruin as their fate a century ago because they had no strength to defend their country, though it boasted the 5 000-year history and brilliant culture.

When they were deprived of even their Korean names, to say nothing of their territory and national sovereignty, by the Japanese imperialists, General Kim Il Sung aroused the Koreans to the great anti-Japanese war and liberated their country. President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il trained them to be masters who shape their destiny by themselves and a people with great spiritual strength. And the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is building up the DPRK to be a great country with enormous dignity and tremendous strength.

As they see their wealth keep increasing and the scope of their civilization broadening, the Korean people keenly realize once again that their ambition and self-confidence get greater with each passing day as they are led by the great leader.

It is their self-confidence and ambition that there can be no impossibility for the Koreans who do not make any empty talk and that Korea should be beautiful and great.

They are determined to pioneer what others could not, advance far ahead of others and force their way through all challenges bravely to realize all their dreams and ideals without fail. The strength of their such unyielding spirit and daring disposition are the driving force of the leap forward of the DPRK at present.
