Aim of Israeli invasion of Lebanon

December 8, 2025

It has been one year since a ceasefire agreement was concluded between Lebanon and Israel.

But in the period Israel has carried out attacks on Lebanon in violation of the agreement.

It launched an air raid on a car in a village in the southeastern part of Lebanon on the pretext that "terrorist activity was detected" on November 28 2024, the day after the truce took effect.

As a result, two Lebanese were injured.

Cases of Israel's violation of the ceasefire agreement number about 5 000.

Such assaults have killed civilians in Lebanon, destroyed its infrastructures and hindered its efforts for rehabilitation and economic development.

A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry recently asserted that more than 1 000 civilians have been killed or injured and the infrastructure and residential areas destroyed by the Israeli military attacks since the ceasefire agreement came into effect.

Israel's continued invasion of Lebanon in flagrant breach of the agreement is aimed at neutralizing and obliterating Hezbollah, an organization of the Lebanese patriotic forces.

Hezbollah was organized during Israel’s invasion of Lebanon in the 1980s. Immediately after the Israeli troops withdrew from its southern part in 2005, Hezbollah put the area under its control and armed itself to strongly counter the aggressive moves of Israel.

Later, it grew to be a military force that cannot be neglected in the Middle East.

For Israel, which is dreaming of realizing the ambition for domination over the region, Hezbollah is a thorn in its flesh.

That is why even after the ceasefire agreement came into effect Israel continues to make air raids for neutralizing it, fearing that it would become a force capable of seriously challenging Israel by pulling its forces together.

Israel has not yet left five areas in violation of the agreement which stipulates its complete pull-out from the occupied territories after the effectuation of the truce. This is also a revelation of its intention to realize its territorial ambition.

Not content with committing appalling massacres aimed at exterminating the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, Israel is expanding the flames of war to the neighbouring regions including Lebanon and its atrocities are coming under denunciation and criticism from the international community.

The murderers in the Middle East who are engrossed in unethical atrocities, disregarding the unanimous demand of the international community, should be given the judgment of history.
