The 58th national art festival of schoolchildren opened on the occasion of the Day of the Sun, the greatest auspicious holiday of the Korean nation. Over 1 300 schoolchildren from across the country took part in the festival.

At the festival, which was held divided into the folk song competition of art group members from schoolchildren’s palaces and students’ and children’s halls, individual art competition and performance of schoolchildren from each province, the participants showed well the happy looks of those who are growing to be art talents in the modern extracurricular bases built under the care of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

There was a public presentation of schoolchildren who were highly appreciated at competitions.

At the closing ceremony held on May 7, organizations from Pyongyang Municipality and North and South Hamgyong and South Phyongan provinces were awarded official commendations of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League for fully displaying their artistic talents through a variety of works.
