A grand performance in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was held in front of the Mansudae Assembly Hall on the evening of September 9.
Among the audience were Kim Tok Hun, Jo Yong Won and Choe Ryong Hae, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and other senior Party, government and military officials, deputies to the Supreme People’s Assembly, participants in the celebrations, officials of ministries and national agencies, students of revolutionary schools and citizens of Pyongyang.
Present there at invitation were the party and government delegation of the People’s Republic of China and members of the Russian Army Academic Song and Dance Ensemble Named after Alexandrov.
The performance was given by artistes and students of leading art troupes including the Ensemble of the State Affairs Commission and the State Merited Chorus, and civilian and army art troupes and art education institutions.
The national anthem of the DPRK was played solemnly.
Put on the stage were such colourful numbers as songs in praise of leaders which reverberated through the courses of state building and the development of Juche Korea, hymns to the Workers’ Party of Korea and other songs of struggle and creation produced in the course of struggle to defend and glorify the genuine people’s country.
The immortal hymn “Cantata to Marshal Kim Il Sung” touched the heartstrings of the audience.
The performers truthfully presented joyful songs and dances.
The performance ended with female solo and chorus “The Glorious Motherland” and finale “Our National Flag”.
