To make all the people well versed in science and technology

April 18, 2024

The present reality of the DPRK, which is advancing toward the overall development of socialism, requires the might of science and technology and vehement activities of talents more than ever before.

Talents are the most valuable strategic resource of the state and the motive force of development.

The Ninth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea stressed the need to increase sci-tech talents both in quality and quantity.

The genuine talents, patriots, required by the current era are those who make a tangible contribution to the strengthening of national power and the enhancement of national prestige with the help of science and technology and who flawlessly succeed in studying and applying anything in a way that its economic effectiveness and sci-tech guarantee are fully proved in reality.

To this end, it is necessary to make the climate in which everyone is willing to learn science and technology and a habit of taking pride in contributing to the prosperity of the country by dint of science and technology prevails over the country.

What is important here is to make all the people well versed in science and technology.

Ensuring that all the people are well versed in science and technology is to prepare all members of society as intelligent workers with the intellectual level of a university graduate and as developers of science and technology.

The Sci-Tech Complex was splendidly built as a temple for all-people learning and latest sci-tech diffusion base on Ssuk Islet in Pyongyang under the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Un who unfolded a grandiose plan for making all the people well versed in science and technology and is wisely leading its implementation, and such diffusion bases have been built at every unit across the country.

All workers acquire rich sci-tech knowledge at them.

They become prominent talents in the course of acquiring professional knowledge suitable for their factories and occupational categories, including data on the modern equipment and production processes they operate and manage and the products they make.

It is evidenced by the employees of the East Pyongyang Thermal Power Station which was recently honoured with the February 16 Science and Technology Prize, top honour for scientists and technicians.

They have overfulfilled their electricity plans monthly and quarterly in recent years by boldly introducing new and innovative technologies while staking their fate on science and technology.

At present, all units enrol employees in the study-while-you-work system, online education system, to strengthen their own technical forces as they put sci-tech talents in right places and assign them core and key tasks so that they can become pillars while assessing their performance and successes in a substantial way.

Meanwhile, the people’s committees across the country channel big efforts into the work for giving preferential treatment to those who distinguished themselves in accelerating social progress and the prosperity of the state by dint of science and technology.

This can be seen through the selection of ordinary scientists, technicians and other working people as top scientists, technicians and inventors in 2023.

The DPRK makes sustained efforts to realize the intention of the WPK to firmly guarantee the rapid and steady development of the country by training all the people as powerful beings and forces.
