Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK, made a field survey of the construction site of the Samjiyon Mountain Resort and that of the first stage of the Tanchon Power Station nearing completion.

At different places of the tourist resort, he acquainted himself with the progress of the construction project, and called for making the most of the good construction season in conformity with the geographical features, strengthen the forces for construction including skilled workers and improve the operation rate of construction equipment so as to finish the project in time without fail.

Reviewing the preparations for this year's project, he stressed the need for all officials to complete the project at the highest qualitative level by redoubling efforts and through correct execution.

Looking at the vehicles and tools of Construction Division 216, which arranged a ceremony for putting vehicles in service and a tools exhibition, he underlined the need to develop, introduce and generalize advanced and efficient equipment and tools in larger numbers.

At the construction site of the first stage of the Tanchon Power Station nearing completion, the premier called for solving the sci-tech problems arising in increasing the efficiency of generating equipment and reducing power loss as much as possible and for taking foresighted measures to ensure stable growth of power generation after inauguration.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of stepping up the preparations for the inauguration of the first stage of the Tanchon Power Station, the issue of making positive use of rational construction methods in the second-stage project of the power station and the issue for the relevant units to ensure the smooth supply of necessary equipment and materials in good time, before taking necessary steps.
