Young people of the DPRK regard it as their pride and honour to unstintingly dedicate their youth to the country and the people.

The enthusiasm for volunteering displayed by the youth clearly shows the degree of their patriotism.

Volunteering for difficult and labour-consuming sectors by carrying forward the fighting spirit of their preceding generations has become a social trend and this enthusiasm is growing further day by day.

In January this year, more than 80 young men and women in South Phyongan Province volunteered to work in the fields of mining industry and construction including coal mines and construction brigades in the province. News about them fired other young people across the country with the zeal for volunteering.

A lot of young people in all parts of the country such as Pyongyang and North Phyongan, Kangwon, North and South Hamgyong and Ryanggang provinces volunteered for difficult and labour-consuming sectors including factories, enterprises, farms, coal mines, livestock farming bases and branch schools on remote islands.

Most recently, dozens of young men and women in North Hamgyong and North Hwanghae provinces offered to work at raw materials base stations and city and county construction brigades for implementing the regional development policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

News continues to be reported from the posts of young volunteers about their strenuous exertions to leave indelible traces of life, steadily following the road they chose.

In the sports sector, too, feats are performed by young people subordinating their dreams and ideals to the undertakings for the country.

Young sportspersons including Pang Chol Mi, Kim Il Gyong and Han Chong Song bagged a lot of medals including golds in several events of international games this year, such as boxing, weightlifting and wrestling, thus demonstrating the dignity of the country all over the world and adding pleasure to the people.

Young people believe that the whole country will be ebullient when they are enthusiastic and the prosperous future of the country will come earlier when they advance faster and it is their aspiration to perform feats for that by devoting their all.

Therefore, the Korean people are very proud of such reliable young people.
