The Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK held a session of its Permanent Commission.

The session brought up for deliberation the issues related to the amendment and supplementing of the DPRK’s laws on science and technology, invention and quality control and adopted relevant decrees.

The law on science and technology details the contents related to the development of the country’s science and technology, including the review of the execution of the sci-tech development plan and the duties of sci-tech deliberation and introduction institutions.

The law on invention newly stipulates the contents of some articles concerning the principles of patent application and deliberation, the application for patents in the name of institutions, enterprises, groups and inventors, the rights of patentees and inventors and others.

The law on quality control specifies the issues for improving quality control including the basic requirements in the inspection of goods and supervision, the issuing of the notice of goods inspection and the certificate of quality and reinspection.
