Study tourists arrive at Mangyongdae

The group of study tourists formed with model schoolchildren from across the country on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung’s 1 000-ri Journey for Learning arrived at Mangyongdae, the sacred place of the Korean revolution.

After marching across Mt Oga and through Hwaphyong, Kanggye, Jonchon, Hyangsan and other areas to Kaechon, they arrived in Pyongyang by train on March 29.

Along the route from Pyongyang Railway Station to Mangyongdae, working people and youth and students welcomed the study tourists. 

A meeting to announce the arrival of the study tourists at Mangyongdae was held at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School.

It was attended by Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Ri Tu Song, department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People’s Committee, officials concerned, youth league officials and the study tourists.

They laid a basket of flowers and bouquets at the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and made a deep bow to them at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School.

After speeches were made, a letter to the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un was adopted amid the enthusiastic applause of the participants.
