Kim Jong Un sends greetings to Laotian counterpart

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, extended warm congratulations to Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and president of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, on December 2 on the 47th anniversary of the founding of the LPDR.

For the past 47 years since the founding of the LPDR the Lao party, government and people have made great achievements in the struggle to firmly defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and consolidate and develop the people’s democratic system so as to build a thriving socialist state, he said.

Today, the Lao party, government and people are making fresh progress in accomplishing the cause of attaining the ultimate goal of socialism by implementing the decision made at the 11th Party Congress, he noted.

Expressing belief that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties and the two countries forged in the joint struggle for socialism would invariably develop on good terms, he sincerely wished the general secretary greater successes in his responsible work.
