Cuban President tours Russia
November 27, 2022Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel recently visited Russia and met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
At the meeting, they analyzed the present situation and prospect of the strategic cooperation between the two countries in the fields of politics, the economy, trade, culture and humanitarianism, exchanged views on major international issues and discussed the matters of developing the bilateral ties of cooperation including the implementation of the Russo-Cuba joint programme for socioeconomic development by 2030.
The Cuban President also held talks with the vice-chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the speaker of the State Duma and the chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council, and made a speech at a plenary session of the State Duma.
During his stay in Moscow, Miguel Diaz-Canel laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and attended the unveiling ceremony of a monument to Fidel Castro, leader of the Cuban revolution.
