Diplomatic ties forged between China and Honduras

March 30, 2023

China and Honduras established diplomatic relations on March 26.

That day, the Chinese and Honduran foreign ministers held talks in China’s Beijing and inked a joint communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Honduras.

The two countries decided to establish diplomatic relations at ambassadorial level from the day of signing the joint communique.

The governments of the two countries agreed to develop bilateral friendly ties on the principle of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual inviolability, non-interference, equality, reciprocity and peaceful coexistence.

The Honduran government pledged that it would cut off so-called “diplomatic relations” with Taiwan and would no longer have any governmental relations and travel with it.
