The Russian Baltic Fleet started a mobile exercise in the Baltic Sea and at firing ranges in Kaliningrad on June 5. 

Involved in the exercise which will go on until June 15 are  about 40 warships, over 20 airplanes and helicopters and 3 500 military personnel.

The Russian Defense Ministry noted that the exercise is aimed at raising the level of combat preparedness of the Baltic Fleet’s military command organs, enhancing the combat capability of soldiers, completing the method of collaboration and making the headquarters and general staffs accumulate the experience of military command.
